Lemon Tree Condo Up in Flames - Condo Metropolis

  • A condo in the Lemon Tree complex was destroyed early Saturday after an eletrical problem in the attic sparked a fire.

Firefighters responded to the Lemon Tree condo just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, and found flames shooting from the roof of the building.

Fire crews said the woman living in the condo heard her smoke detector, saw black smoke coming from a back room and called for help.

The woman got out safely with her kids, but lost everything in the fire.

Because the roof of the condo was caving in, firefighters had to battle the blaze from above, but were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

The Lemon Tree condos are between S. John Young and S. Orange Blossom (not far from the Millennium Palms condos).
